Urban City Renewal (UCR) contributed new winter coats for at-risk children and youth to the Martha's Table clothing program called Martha's Outfitters. Their newly expanded clothing center, provides free and low-cost clothing, linens, toiletries, books, and children's supplies to those in need. All proceeds from sales support their children and youth programs.
All clothes are categorized, sized and arranged throughout the rooms. Everyday their staff and volunteers sort, select and display from their newest donations.

By Spring of 2009, Urban City Renewal will provide at least 26 rental units for consumers of the Green Door, a nationally renowned, non-profit community organization located in Washington, DC. Green Door served more than a thousand women and men with mental illness and has helped them work and live successfully in the community since 1976.
Green Door is a community program that prepares women and men with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses to work and live independently in the District of Columbia. Helping People Reclaim Their Lives
Together with Green Door, Urban City Renewal can help people with mental illness return to work and live in the community. Beginning from the individual's strengths, Green Door consumers are given the opportunity to learn employable life skills through meaningful work and participate in a supportive community. Green Door promises life-long support as their consumers become self-sufficient and involved in the community.
12/24/08 - UCR buys new winter coats for Martha's Table
We donated dozens of new coats to Martha's Table, a non-profit organization that helps at-risk children, youth, families and individuals to improve their lives by providing educational programs, food, clothing, and enrichment opportunities.
12/15/08 - UCR Partners with Green Door.
UCR will provide affordable rental housing to Green Door, a non-profit organization, that prepares women and men with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses to work and live independently in the District of Columbia.
10/08/08 - UCR volunteers at Food and Friends.
UCR repeatedly volunteers with Food and Friends, a non-profit organization, who cooks and delivers meals to people living with HIV/AIDS, Cancer and other life challenging illnesses.
05/29/08 - UCR donates to Community Food Banks.
UCR will continue to repeatedly donate to non-profit food banks in the Metro. DC area such as, Charlie's Place, and So Others Might Eat, who provide hot meals and toiletries to homeless individuals.
12/15/06 - UCR creates Cancer Respite Center.
UCR is leasing a Victorian home in Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC to provide temporary, free residence for out of town guests and their caregivers while they are undergoing treatment in Washington, DC.
